a2b Fulfillment President and Owner, Ayal Latz, recently participated as a panelist for an educational breakout session titled “Entering Ecommerce Order Fulfillment: Understanding the needs and meeting the challenges of providing B2C/Ecommerce Order Fulfillment.” The session was part of the International Warehouse Logistics Association’s 2016 Convention and Expo in Orlando, which brings together hundreds of top warehouse logistics professionals and provides educational insight into the industry.

The discussion centered around recent trends in e-Commerce, including the industry’s rapid growth and the challenges presented by innovative technologies and increased customer demand. Latz discussed the e-Commerce order lifecycle, noting the importance of having order management system integration that supports multiple technologies. He also discussed moving the product to consumer and how vital customer care is throughout the order fulfillment process.

“Customer satisfaction is more important than ever,” Latz explained. “Negative social media can be instantly damaging to a brand. Consumer reviews can directly affect buying decisions on products and a bad review can really cost you.”

Other topics covered on the panel included facility needs, HR considerations, industry statistics, regulatory topics and IT and system needs.

“e-Commerce is a terrific topic, because it’s one that continues to evolve on an almost daily basis. I’m grateful to IWLA for inviting me to be a part of this panel discussion. It’s our job as fulfillment providers to continually educate ourselves on these trends and make sure that the entire shipping process is seamless for our clients,” says Latz.
